Better than Mother Goose

Yummy Input

"Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport, and the dish ran away with the spoon." Are you of the generation that learned Mother Goose rhymes, some of them nonsense, like that one?

Wait a minute...it was a COW, not a dog,
that jumped over the moon!
Bethel Baptist's most recent youth group activity was a barbecue on the rooftop of the church building, and partway through, someone noticed a cloud formation that looked very much like a fluffy doggy.

Sure, the barbecue was yummy; sure, the mixing-chatting-gaming was yummier; but the yummiest was probably what happened after supper.  The young people were challenged to make God's Word their very own--to etch it into their hearts. The speaker said, among other things, for anyone who memorized a book in the Bible--exempting single-chapter books--he would BUY THEM ANY BIBLE THEY WANTED--exempting, of course, museum pieces such as the first Bible printed and stuff like that.

Drool. There are two Bibles I've been wanting for some time. But I'm not in the youth group. I wonder if the offer will be good for me? It'll be a lot better than learning Mother Goose.

(I know a few of the young people have already gotten started.)
